Nomination
Process for All Awards A call
for nominations is sent to all members approximately January 15 of each
year. All
nomination materials must be submitted electronically by March 15th. It is the nominator's
responsibility to demonstrate in a 1-2 page written statement to the
Awards Committee why the person nominated deserves a
particular award. The letter of nomination must be accompanied by the
nominee's
up-to-date vita. Carefully review the criteria for each award to be sure
your nomination is submitted for the most appropriate recognition
category. The Awards
Committee will determine who, if anyone, will receive
awards in a given year. A nominee who does
not win an award in a given year will automatically be reconsidered for
the same award the next year. In this instance, the nominator will be
contacted by the Chair of the Awards Committee in February and asked if
he/she wants to keep the nominee in the pool for a second year. If
he/she does, the nominator will be asked to submit an updated vita by
the posted deadline for his/her nominee. After two consecutive years of
consideration, the nominee must be renominated in order to be considered
for an award.
There are many Consortium members who are making
very noteworthy contributions to the profession. One of the greatest
honors an individual can receive is to be recognized by his/her peers.
Your participation in the nomination process is needed and very much
appreciated. Please take time to nominate your peers.
Nomination Content and Format
For each nomination, please
electronically submit the
following information:
- Award category and the date of
nomination submission
- Nominee: Up-to-date vita to include:

General Nomination Guidelines
- All nomination materials (letters and
vita) must be submitted electronically.
- NCPERID members should follow the
above nomination format. All nominations must be from current
Consortium members.
- NCPERID members can nominate more than
one person per year; however, each nominator can only nominate one person per
award category.
- A person cannot be nominated for an
award they have previously received. However, past recipients can be
nominated for awards in other categories.
- All nomination letters and vitae should be
emailed to: Dr. Hester
Henderson, Department of Exercise and Sport Science, University of
Utah, (801) 581-7964,
hester.henderson@health.utah.edu.
- The nomination deadline is March
15th of each year. Because of the timelines we must follow, no
nominations will be accepted after this date (unless the committee
makes a special request for clarification purposes). Award winners
will be notified by approximately April 15th of each year, and will be
invited to the awards presentation ceremony at the annual conference
in July.
- A nominee who does not win an award in a given
year will automatically be reconsidered for the same award the next
year. In this instance, the nominator will be contacted by the
Chair of the Awards Committee in February and asked if he/she wants
to keep the nominee in the pool for a second year. If he/she does,
the nominator will be asked to submit an updated vita by the posted
deadline for his/her nominee. After two consecutive years of
consideration, the nominee must be renominated in order to be
considered for an award.
